GPU upgrade in my current system

Hi Tomshardware.

I am looking to upgrade my current system, and my budget is around 500$.

I'm getting FPS drops in games such as Guild Wars 2 and Rust.
Rust is played at the graphic option "fastest", and I still get low FPS and occasional massive FPS drops.

The second problem I have is during booting. After the Windows 7 loading screen during booting, the monitor loses contact with the computer. To remedy this I have to turn off the monitor and on again.

Curiously this happens when I try to start Warcraft 3; I have to turn off and on the monitor after starting the game. This process also has to be repeated when exiting the game.

This also happens if I try to run games with high graphics, like "Dying Light"; The monitor loses contact with the computer and has to be turned off and on again. When it comes back the game screen is white, and there is a very brief message in the left corner explains a driver crashed.

While I'm not hardware savvy, I assume this could be related to the GPU.

Thank you for your time.
If there is any questions, or relevant information I forgot to include please let me know.

My current systems is:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD5, Socket-1155
Memory: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 16GB CL9
Storage: OCZ SSD Agility 3 Series 2.5" 240GB
WD Desktop Black 2TB
Video Card: Gainward GeForce GTX 580 3072MB PhysX
Case: Fractal Design Define XL Black Pearl
Power Supply: Corsair AX 850W PSU
Monitor: Fujitsu 27" SL27T-1 LED

Since I am not completely sure if the text list is descriptive enough,
I'll include the list of the components if more information is required about them. The following link is to my "wishlist" where I added the components:

You have a good processor but the new mobos use a different socket and they won't be compatible. I suggest you spend the money on just getting a good GPU rather than upgrading your RAM+CPU+mobo+GPU. In the future, dump the cpu and mobo you currently have and buy a z270/B350 mobo and move the new GPU over.

I would recommend a GTX 1050Ti and an SSD upgrade. This will give you a huge performance boost.

Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GX33jc/by_merchant/

Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($169.00 @ B&H)
Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Video Card ($143.61 @ Amazon)
Total: $312.61

Everything else should be...

If you get an error message saying the driver crashed, it is you driver that's causing the issue (go figure lol). I suggest you uninstall and re-install the driver. It could also be that you're running at a resolution/refresh rate your GPU can't handle.

Best.

EDIT: Games like rust are poorly optimized. Random frames drop is normal in Rust. I have no info of Guild Wars 2

Thank you for your answer mbilal2.

I have previously uninstalled, updated and gone back to a previous version of the driver and the problem persists.

I apologize as the intention of the post might not have been clear enough. I'm mainly looking to upgrade my system, and posted the components in case some of it is not compatible with newer models of GPUs, etc 10 series.
As stated in the OP, I have a budget about 500$

Best regards

Everything else should be supported and compatible. Again when you have a bigger budget, upgrade the CPU+Mobo+RAM and you should be good to go.

Thank you for the answer mbilal2.

I will purchase a GTX 1050Ti OC and the SSD you suggested.
When you listed a new SSD, do you mean that I should clone my current SSD to the new one, and then replace my current with the new one as the SSD I boot from?
