Hi all - please excuse any ignorance in this query; I am not particularly up to speed when it comes to technology (hence my query!)! My GTX 1060 3GB is on its last legs and I am looking for a replacement. I use my PC primarily for gaming, mostly games like RDR2, RPG and FPS games. I have been trying to decide whether to upgrade to a 1660 Super (my budget might just stretch to a new one) or get an older but "higher spec" card used. My options at the moment seem to be a new 1660 Super for about £335 (if I'm lucky!) or used I could get a 1070 (Zotac Amp Extreme) for £250 or a 1080 for £320ish. If I have understood what I have read online correctly, the performance on the older cards might be better than a 1660 Super currently (only just in the case of the 1070), but the Super is newer and so more likely to be supported for longer/ newer games are more likely to be geared towards the Super. Are there any other factors I should be thinking about and what are people's recommendations (eg are there other cards I should be looking at?)? My PC spec is:
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
16384MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
650W PSU
Many thanks!
