[SOLVED] GPU upgrade on Dell Precision 690

Precision 690, 2ea 3GHz Xeon CPU's, 64GB ram, nVidia Quadro FX3500 existing. New GeForce GTX 1660 fits in 16x slot, but PSU 8 pin connector is wrong shape/configuration. Is there an adapter to allow connection? Apparently Dell's pin-out shape/configuration is proprietary & won't fit the newer cards

Then you need either a gpu that is only powered through the motherboard, or a brand new psu.
Don't take shortcuts with power supplies. If your psu doesn't already have the needed cables, then that means it's not the unit for the job.
Attaching an adapter means running the psu beyond spec; if something goes wrong afterwards, then it's all on you.
