I have Nvidia Geforce gtx 275 1gb and planning to upgrade to Nvidia Gtx 970 4gb.

how to know how much GPU memory your motherboard can handle? and is it ok if for example the mobo has the capacity of 2gb, is it possible to still use a 4gb gpu?

by the way I am planning to use the new gpu for future build. I currently Have i7 860 CPU and ASRock p55de3 MotherBoard with PCI 2.0.

gtx 980 has 3.0 PCI.

The above specs can kill every game at ultra-high at 60fps, so go ahead

Also get a gold/bronze certified 500W+ PSU and an identical set of RAM :)

EDIT1: Yup, GTX 970 would tear down every game you throw at it, enjoy your games mate :)

Cheers,

Merry Christmas mate, glad to help :D
