Hi all, haven't posted here in a long, long time but figured this was my last hope since I couldn't find anything else online that solved my issue.
I'm having an issue when playing MHWilds where my FPS will slowly decrease overtime as I play until it becomes a literal slideshow. It seems like this is happening because my GPU usage is actually dropping from 80% (starting) all the way to 30% over time. I've tried lowering the graphic-intense settings to see if that improves framerate, but it actually has no effect.
Since it gets worse over time, I thought it was maybe due to thermal throttling. Through HWiNFO, I was able to see that neither my GPU, CPU, or RAM had thermal throttled/hit voltage limit a single time over a 3-hour period of playing Wilds (with lag and all). Some other posts with similar issues (in different games) had noted that it was maybe caused by a bad storage drive, but CrystalDiskInfo said both my boot drive and game drive are at 99% health (M.2 NVMes). Those same posts also mentioned problems with their RAM but I'm not well-versed enough to know what to check for when looking at RAM counters. Others said it might be an issue with an abnormally large pagefile.sys allocation, but I have mine set to system managed for all drives.
Annoyingly enough, other intense games don't cause this issue. If I load into other triple-a title games, my GPU will stay at 99% for the entire session and it won't ever drop its usage and my PC will sound like a jet engine with all its fans. I'm not sure if this is an issue with Wilds itself but I haven't seen others have this exact issue I'm having. If anyone has a possible solution, it would be greatly appreciated!
