AMD-A6 3500
GTX 660 ZOTAC 2GB GDDR5
4GB RAM

my gpu usage drops down to 4% at times I monitored my cpu and gpu using afterburner here are the results of the benchmark. I used Fortnite, that massive drop on the gpu usage was when I was loading into a game and as you can see it drops

Can't see the rest of your CPU cores, but if your CPU cores are near 100% or really high & your GPU usage is low, that means your CPU is having trouble keeping up & your GPU has nothing to do for a moment while your CPU catches up.

Does this happen for all games or just Fortnite? Have you changed the default power settings of your PC via OS & power settings of the GPU while the game is playing?

I've changed everything on the control panel and the nvidia control panel all of the settings are set to performance mode

Sorry, it took me so long to respond.

This is definitely a CPU not able to keep up for whatever reason & the GPU is sitting idle while waiting for instructions. This is why you see the dip in usage.

It sounds like back in August, Fortnite was very CPU heavy & would probably benefit from a proper Ryzen 5 or i5 CPU that will have a higher core count of 4cores minimum & a higher clock speed per core. Being that you have a system w/ only 4GB a DRAM & a GTX 660, if you upgrade your CPU, then you will start to notice other parts of your PC starting to drag your performance. Getting an new CPU (including mobo), an SSD (to replace or use as boot drive), & upping your DRAM will give you significant gains & is relatively cheap currently. Obviously, if you can't afford a whole new PC, then do one of those upgrades at a time as you can gather the funds for them & you'll be fine. Your current system is just a bit out of date is all.
