Yesterday I was playing a bit of minecraft with some shaders, running at around 70-90 fps on an EVGA gtx 970. But today after I booted up my computer and started the game. My gpu usage drops from 80% to 20% when I click on my mouse while looking a certain direction in game. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, new and old many times, and this does not happen in other demanding games like The Witcher 3 or GTA V, where I stay at 60+. I cannot tell what the problem here is.

Edit: Check my cpu usage and when I click it drops at the same time my gpu usage drops.

Solution
That's really weird. Might be java related maybe? I'm not sure. Try this.

Download ddu and select nvidia. Select clean and shut down. Then take the gpu out of the pci slot and check for dust, reseat the card firmly, make sure all the wires are secured, etc. Then boot, go to nvidia's website and download a fresh set of the latest drivers and install.
