Question GPU Usage Randomly Drops

ZOTAC 1050TI OC
EVGA 650 GQ
GIGABYTE B360M DS3H
Corsair Vengeance 4x2 GB DDR4

While gaming my gpu temperature will randomly just drop to around 50 degrees while my cpu stays in the 60's. It causes my fps to drop from around 140-80 or severe lag spikes that last anywhere from 1-15 seconds.

Oh i also just noticed that my cpu usage will drop to like 17% when the lag spikes happen, and that my gpu and cpu usage are both usually only around 50%-60%.

Before your GPU temp drops to ~50C, have you checked what peak temp it has reached? This might be a case of your GPU throttling after reaching a thermal limit.

Your power supply is good I think. Do you use a SSD? If it's a normal hard disk, it may not be read in time and FPS will drop in the end.

yea but it happens in games that are both saved on ssd and ones that are not

the gpu i dont think has ever reached its limit

I also noticed that sometimes the usage of my gpu will say its at like 95% and it will be only around 55 degrees, and sometimes at 95% its at like 65

Seems it's not a problem on the GPU and CPU side as you've said they're not maxed out in terms of utilization %.

What game are you playing?
Have you tried checking how much RAM your game is eating up as you play? This problem sometimes occur when RAM gets close to 100% utilization.

ok so the lag spikes recently got worse. im just going to post a video of me playing with the cpu/gpu temps and utilization are being monitored. also the ram and memory (idk the difference lol).

from what i can tell with my little experience the ram isnt fluctuating a lot
