Gpu usage seems to spike whenever I start programs/games.

Hi,
I downloaded msi afterburner and found out that my gpu usage spikes to about 95 - 99% even when I don't even do anything that's supposed to be heave on the gpu. From what I've noticed it seems like whenever I start up the computer and just let it sit on my desktop without doing anything the gpu usage is around 0%. But whenever I start chrome, mozilla or even a game it's only a matter of time until the gpu usage spikes and it stays up there until I restart the computer.

This is pretty annoying since I can't run some games as good, tried it on bf3 just after a restart and my fps drops from constant 60 to around 30 and below. I googled and tried some stuff like checking my active processes for anything weird and I downloaded process explorer but it didn't do much for me.

gigabyte gforce gtx770
i5-3570K
8 gigs of ram
Gigabyte z77x-ud3h
64 bit w7
Nothing is overclocked from my end

I followed the guide but my list is different, there is no "GPU compositing on all pages" option so I tried disabling and limiting the stuff I could find that were gpu related, but none made any difference to the gpu usage

Here's a screenshot of my problem, I don't think it's a temperature related problem since it's raised because of the gpu usage but it seems to go up to a maximum of 65 Celsius.

My system interrupts is on 0%, the only process that's taking a lot is mdm with 25%. Here is another screenshot of my gpu and cpu usage at the same time. I also tried uninstalling my drivers and gforce experience but that didn't solve it either.

Dude, thank you so much!<3 I shut the process down and the msi readings all plummeted. My fans even stopped making so much noise and the computer is dead silent now. I also found a reddit page saying that it's possible that it's a bitcoin miner that's causing it.

i'm not using it, it probably installed from one of my downloads... I came across threads on the internet about it and "investigated" but since I couldn't find any processes with a weird name I didn't think that it was it.
