GPU Usage vs Vsync

Hi Guys.

Just looking for some knowledge etc.

I have a 280x running with a I5-4570. I was playing Just Cause 2 and I noticed some weird usage in my system.

With Vsync ON I have;

GPU - 15%-30% Usage
Cpu - 10%-30% Usage

With Vsync OFF I have;

GPU - 90%-99% Usage
CPU - 40%-60% Usage

Now With Vsync ON I am getting a solid, never dropping 60 FPS and with vysnc OFF I am getting Min 150fps going upto 300 plus.

So it's more of a straight up, is the usage correct for the increase in FPS when no setting shave been changed other than Vsync. The Temps are solid also, 40s low 50s with Vsync on and 50s low 60s with it off.

Yes, because the card has to work harder to achieve a higher framerate, which increases gpu usage
