[SOLVED] gpu utilization always at 100

i used the nvidia overlay [Alt+Z] and then selected performance and saw my gpu using 100% and thats without playing anything and cant figure out how to lower it

What gpu are you using?
Check for malware/hidden cryptominers.

If the GPU utilization is always 100% then most likely your PC might be infected by a Bitcoin Mining Virus, or some other malware., IMO Though, which PSU model are you using ? Provide complete PC specs as well.

Assuming your current OS is not infected by any Malware, then there might be some other issue which might be causing this high GPU utilization. What all background apps/programs are running on your system ?
