GPU vs integrated graphic monitor ports

This may be a dumb question, but is there a difference between using the ports on the GPU (GTX 1070 in this case) vs the integrated graphics on the motherboard/cpu.?

If you use integrated graphics the GPU wont be used so your gaming performance will massively suffer

Depends on the motherboard. Some will let you pass a PCIe GPU's output through the motherboard ports and still get the graphics from the card. Most motherboards just disable those ports when a GPU is installed.
