Hello!

Generally, which GPUs have lower temps? AMD or NVIDIA?

Also, of the following, which GPU would have the coolest average temperatures during normal and intense usage?
I'm having troubling identifying them myself.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M
AMD Radeon HD 7970M

Solution
Not so much temperature, but performance per watt when looking at Laptop GPUs. They will all be within the MXM form factor power requirements, or TDP. (Thermal Design Power)(45W comes to mind, would have to look at each exact laptop)

I wouldn't consider the 7970m as that is going back two generations for AMD. M290X and 8970M would be more recent, but essentially the same technology. GTX780m and GTX880m are also the same technology, renamed. GTX880m drivers had some throttling issues as I recall, probably been resolved by now. (The 780m was performing better in benchmarks at the time)

The Nividia 980m and 970m would be the most efficient, and thus coolest, based on the latest from Nvidia. 980m would also be the fastest (essentially a desktop GTX970 with another SMM unit disabled.)

In general Nvidia has better performance/watt when compared to AMD.
