Hello,

(first of all not sure if this is the right thread ,if not I'm sorry).

Thanks to some luck I got free pc parts to make a pc to mess around with but my GPU won't fit in the case by a couple of cm (blocked by graphics card's mounting bracket) and I'm not sure if it is because of the case or just bad luck with motherboard placement and if there is a fix or if I just need a new case and/or motherboard.

I searched and found that you could remove the brackets but the bars that hold the brackets are still in the way, any way I can remove those (safely) ? Or do I need to get a new case? I hope not since I'm trying to be on a budget.

Here are the parts that it is about.
Motherboard : Asus FM1 F1A55-V.
GPU: Nvidia GTX 970 4GB
case: Cooler Master K-350 Advanced

If I said/asked something stupid I apologise in advance, thanks for help anyway.

So it's about 1 cm if I see that right - however note DVI port (again if I see that right) is blocked by bracket. Once you remove bracket (or two if the GPU is 2 slots high), it will fit. Yes, it will be tight, but it is supposed to be tight.
Thanks for the reply. I know that it should fit my case but it is like the motherboard is placed to close to the backside so it doesn't fit. Thanks for the reply though.

Sorry for the late reply, something came up so I was home later and was exhausted. Also don't pay attention to the dust, I still gotta clean it.

That is what is in the way.

Here you can see how closely I can align the gpu (yes I know I should pick the top pcie slot but they have the same horizontal position.

Is taken with previous picture to show what is in the way when trying to fit it.

I hope I gave enough information, if not just ask for more.
Thank you for your time and effort.

Solution
Premium cases those covers pull out & are reuseable .
Cheaper cases like yours theyre just perforated & snap out & are not refittable.

Now get it dusted & up & running ;-)

What cpu is in there?? Any fm1 chip is going to struggle to keep up with a gtx 970 in all honesty
