GPU wont hit 100% usage in game

My new GTX 1080 FTW won't hit 100% usage and hovers around 40-50% usage in game (PUBG). I have disabled Nvidia power plan and windows power plan.

I am trying to get my performance to look like this https://youtu.be/P-j53T6Ii3Y?t=11m28s
But it barely reaches 60 FPS on Ultra/Low settings. I tried increasing the resolution to 1440p using DSR and that didn't increase the usage either.

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 at 3.7 Ghz
8GB 2400 Single Channel
GTX 1080 FTW
600 Watt PSU
MSI b350 Bazooka

ram, ryzen likes fast ram it can make a pretty huge difference
that dude has 3000 mhz

you really want at least 2666, 3200 optimally
and in dual channel mode ( i.e. two equal sticks )

he was hovering around ~70 - ~80 fps on PUBG




do you monitor cpu temps?
