Hi everyone,

Yesterday I disassembled my pc for cleaning but when I assembled it and was powering on, the gpu didnt post on Pcie 01 but everything was running fine and it booted on integrated graphics. I tried several times but no luck even tried removing vertical mount bracket. but was in no luck. Then i tried on Pcie 02 bracket and it booted normally. After searching for some time some people were having the same issue but their gpu posted when they change pcie 4.0 to 3.0 in bios. Then i tried using my old gt 730Lp on Pcie 01 and it posted normally. Then i found out that motherboard is not detecting Pcie 4.0 Gpu but only 3.0. Please help me with this.
Thanks..

Any diagnostic LEDs?

Will the system boot into Safe Mode?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

RAM: configuration? Was RAM removed during cleaning? Some motherboards require that the first physically installed RAM be placed in a specific RAM slot.

Are you able to change BIOS boot to verbose mode in order to observe the BIOS Boot process?

Start by checking the beep codes you hear. Listen carefully to the pattern to be sure.

Overall, go online and find the applicable motherboard User Guide/Manual via the Asus website.

Refer to the User Guide/Manual to double check that all components are supported, correctly installed, and configured. Pay attention to all warnings and fine print.

Verify by sight and feel that all cards, connectors, RAM, jumpers, and case connections are fully and firmly in place.

Hopefully just some error of omission or commission during reassembly.

= = = =

Note: do be careful though: Just because "Asus " or B-650M , etc. may appear in any given URL that does not mean that the website is Asus.

There are several "trap" websites that offer to provide manuals but are likely to set off AV and malware warnings. Or create a fake warning to panic visitors into some sort of scam actions thereafter.

Maybe not.

The original descriptions and postings did not/do not implicate BIOS as a potential culprit.

You may have replaced a faltering/failing part only to have a situation where BIOS then became an issue. And not directly.

Many pieces: hardware, firmware, software, configuration...

A gets fixed then B fails, then B gets fixed then C fails, C gets fixed and D fails, D gets fixed and A fails again.

Vicious circle: hard to diagnose and break out of....
