[SOLVED] GPU won't send signal to second monitor

I've a simple 1080p 60hz monitor as my main display, and i had an old 1024x768 60/75hz monitor laying around. My GPU is a R7 370 4GB. Both monitors are VGA, but this card has no VGA output. It has DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI, Displayport outputs . I have two adapters, from DVI-I to VGA and from DVI-D to VGA. Using the DVI-D adapter both monitors work perfectly. Using the DVI-I adapter neither monitor works. Using both, only the DVI-D adapter monitor works. That verifies both monitors and cables are fine. The PC won't even recognize the second monitor, at all. That leaves us with 3 options as far as i can tell: either there's something wrong software side, GPU isn't sending signal to the DVI-I port, or the adapter is faulty (its brand new). Could you help me with that? Thanks.

I might have gotten DVI-I, and DVI-D backwards. Also I just found out the latter is digital only and is not compatible without an active adapter. Sucks.
