gpu wont turn on for minecraft

hello i recently purchased an gforce gt x 960 previous i had a radeon hd6670 which ran minecraft fine but my gfrce gtx wont even start up for minecraft all other games bioshock prototype arkham knight it will turn on and run perfect but minecraft doesnt things i have previously done to sort the problem with no result

added java javaw and minecraft.exe to nvidia control panel 3d settings

also tried right clicking on minecraft to pick which graphics processor to use but that option doesnt appear for me

been in bios and disabled onboard graphics

Updated graphics drivers

also my computer specs are

amd-a6 6400k
8gb of ram
geforce gtx 960 2gb ddr5 supersc edition


i dont know what else to put but any help on sorting the problem would be
greatly appreciated

Hey there hope you are having a good day. Could back up all your save game of mine craft and completely uninstall it including all the save game files and the settings files. Then try installing it again to see if it works. I think it might be that in your minecraft settings file it probably configured to run on previous card and might need to be re installed to properly run with the new one. I know changing the cards shouldn't effect it but it's worth a try.

Okay tell me this what happens when you try to open minecraft? And how did you uninstall amd drivers before installing Nvidia drivers? Did you just uninstall them from the control panel or used some 3rd party software to uninstall them?

i uninstalled em from control panel and i also done a full clean install of windows 7 to get rid of all my junk and then installed nvidia drivers from there and minecraft loads works fine and everything it jut isnt using my gpu it using my cpu so im getting about 2 fps max

Okay. Did you try this in Nvidia Control Panel unnder 3D-Settings select global settings and check nvidia high performance processor (or similar). Been a long time since i used the Nvidia but it should like that. Basically select Nvidia to run in all conditions.

unfortunately under 3d settings global settings i dont have the peformance processor anywhere

also i have got the gpu working for at launcher but normal standalone minecraft still isnt working for and for at launcher its only giving me about 20 fps aswell
