Hey guys, joined just to try and find help. Had a look but couldn't find answers that work.
Firstly
Op System: Windows 10
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Card: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
MoBo: Intel H77
PSU: 460W
Ram: 16gb

The other day I was sat at my desktop when both monitors went black. I figured the card had died on me and swapped it out for an older 7770 I had lying around and everything worked fine. I took the dead card to my sisters and tried it in her older computer, and it worked fine.

When it is installed in my pc, the fans kick in and I can hear the HDD boot up as normal.

I've tried; reseating it multiple times, uninstalling all drivers, and power supply connections. I can't think what else I could do as the 7770 is unaffected.

Any help is help.
Thanks.

HD 7800 Series

please specify which card this is

open the case and look at it if you dont know, they have stickers on them with the model number etc

PSU: 460W

this as well, same as above

Sorry, HD7870, the PSU is just dells stock PSU, model: HU460AD-01
I should have been more specific there

The card is the same that was shipped with the PC, so power SHOULDN'T be an issue imo..But hey, I'm the one stumped.

that is a bit underpowered for a 7870

500w or better with at least 30 amps on the 12v rail is recommended

does that psu even have two 6-pin cables?

Even though it has been running fine since I got it over 2 years ago?

power supplies decline/degrade as time goes by

Hmm, I'll take it under consideration. I was thinking about upgrading it at some point anyway. Thanks
