Hello everyone,
My PC Spec is
Pentium D processor @2.5Ghz, G31/G33 Intel chipset board , 1.0 Gb DDR2 RAM
Now i want to buy a graphic card to support games(at least some)only from a retailer. I have thought of 9500GT,9400GT,HD5550,HD5570,HD4670,HD 5450,HD 4350,(all 512 Mb)
Retailer here has only 9400GT(1gb) and HD4350,HD5450 at present.
I Think only 9500GT and HD 5450 are better than all others and these two have almost same price here!
so i want the real time comparison between these two,i have used
http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=625&card2=574
to compare these two cards, but didn't understand the specifications exactly,

ATI HD 5450(from other site)
Memory clock speed: 400 MHz( DDR2) and up to 800 MHz( DDR3)
Memory bandwidth:6.4 GB/sec (DDR2) and up to 12.8 GB/sec (DDR3)

9500GT

Memory bandwidth:12.8 GB/sec (DDR2) and up to 25.6/sec (DDR3)
Memory clock:800 (GDDR3) and 500 (DDR2)

Two parameters here DDR2 and DDR3
what does this actually mean. I have DDR2 supporting board, i know even GDDR5 support my mobo, but about the performance?-does DDR2 mentioned here is realated to mobo's supporting type or its Card specific?
I mean are there two seperate cards in market like DDR2 and DDR3?

I was amazed by the Power requirement with HD5450 just 19W!!(6.4W is typical!!!) whilst 9500GT has 50W
and about DirectX version and Open GL version ,shader version This card wins thumbs up!

but on the other hand Texture Units,Raster Operators,MEMORY BUS TYPE(does this plays major role?)FLOPS,Pixel Fill Rate
Texture Fill Rate, etc its lower than 9500GT.
So,please give me actual difference in perforamance according to my board.

For 9500GT i have to wait for 1 week :( , shall i wait or get HD5450?
I know HD 5550 and 5570 are still better , what is their latest price? Its not available here now but shall i wait?

Please help me regarding this , thanks !! :)

Yes, there is a DDR3 version of the 9500GT available also. You see how there is a bandwidth difference between the two memory architectures. These mean if you buy the DDR2 edition, the card will tranfer data in a speed of 6.4gb/sec and similarly goes with the DDR3 edition.

So, Definitely the DDR3 will be faster.

Here are some gpuz images i found (it says that the DDR2 has 12.8 gb/sec bandwidth) :

See how the two memory defers from each other.not only in bandwidth but also has a huge difference in the core clock,memory and shader frequencies,and also a minor difference in texture fillrate.

So, its clear if you buy the DDR3 or GDDR3 edition of the 9500gt you will have a...

This has nothing to do with your motherboard, you can even use a GDDR 5 card in your mobo.Its only the memory architecture of a graphics card.

Yes, those things that you mentioned above matters on the performance of a gpu.The more in a card the better it is. But this things have nothing to do with your mobo again.as long as you have a PCIE slot you are fine to put any card.

The HD 5450 is a low-profile card,the 9500gt will be a lot better than it.Its always good to wait to get the best :) .
If you can search a bit more or if you can specially order for the HD 4670 or HD 5570 it will be a better choice.

The approx prices are:

5550 = 3000 - 3500 INR

5570 = 3800 INR

4670 = 3000 INR

Ok! but Why they mention two different specifications for cards, for eg: 6.4gb/sec(ddr2) and 12.8(ddr3)
what does these mean? are there two different cards available in market for eg., 9500GT DDR2 and 9500GT DDR3 , If so then DDR3 must have higher perforamance, and its cost will be more! am i right??

Yes, there are different editions of the 9500gt are available in the market (like you said : 9500gt DDR2 ,9500gt DDR3 and 9500gt GDDR3) .

There will be a minute difference in price. (eg: DDR2 = 3000INR, DDR3 = 3350 INR, GDDR3 = 3500INR).

Only thing, you have to search for it in different stores as prices may vary. :)

hey if you want to go with 9500gt (DDR2 = 3000INR, DDR3 = 3350 INR, GDDR3 = 3500INR) it will be a big loss for you because if you add just 165RS you can get an hd4650 of around 3650INR which will perform around 30% better than the 9500gt.

The prices that you have posted are almost accurate and really the difference between the 9500gt and hd 4650 is just around 200 - 300 INR in india.
So 9500gt will be a total waste of money if he can get an hd 4650 in almost the same price.
