For a $177 price, AMD will not have any profit, or even will incur a loss. But if AMD not to sell it, it even has a bigger loss, it is real dilemma for AMD.

There's still plenty of profit to be had on 5000 series chips. There is more money per chip to be made by retailers of AMD chips & AMD vs Intel. Hence the reason for Intel's huge stock price drop last week.

That being said it's a smoking deal for this chip. Just upgraded from a 3700x which I sold for $100. Not a bad upgrade for under $100. Runs just as cool or cooler than the 3700x. Gave a nice little bump in fps and will keep me happy for a few years.
