I have the above game I am not sure if is the original GTA re-released or
the sequel (more likely) the back of the CD says 1999.

I cannot seem to progress with this game..mainly because I have trouble
finding a save point (a church) and when I do I don't know how to save !

I have no game guide-for some reason..I would appreciate anyone with tips or
even better a full strategy guide to e-mail me with it.

Directly please to jstone@lineone.net put GRAND THEFT in the subject

As far as I know, GTA2 was only released twice; the original (In 1999)
and the download off of the Rockstar Classics website (Fairly recently,
this year/last year). I think if you've got a cd case it'll be the
original version as most re-releases have the original issue year and
the new one.

Do a Google search on for "GTA2 maps". Note also that you can't save
during a mission or Kill Frenzy, and that you must also have sufficient
money too (Typically between $50,000 and $100,000).

Also, if you see a TV van nick it. The satellite dish on it's roof
always points back to your starting point which is, funnily enough, the
church save point.

Done and done. Try gamefaqs.com for mission guides. A lot of sites for
guides also have some which include the basic manual instructions and
controls. I'd also suggest getting hold of the codes for some serious
wanted level fun )

Easiest way to find the save point is to steal a news van. Their radar
dishes always point at the church. You can find plenty of strategy guides
on www.gamefaqs.com.

Sorry, I'm not going to e-mail you. This is a public forum, so don't ask
people to respond to you personally.

I got it as part of a 10-games collection.

(Needless to say I never really played the other nine games. =:)

There was a gameguide sold once. I still have one. It contains
maps as well.

Really? Why is this not mentioned in the gameguide? Damn it! =:)

I've also never seen a guide mention that the Wang Cars secret only
exists in the PC version. To date I haven't seen anything like that on
the Playstation, they seem to have been replaced with vehicle kill
frenzies (Mines, mounted machine-guns and whatnot).

No biggee, I quite enjoy taking on the law just to nab an FBI car

O:eek:)

I wonder how they manage that one on the little island on the very
north-most side of the map with the hick-town on it. As I recall, you need
to do a very difficult jump to get onto the island, and then the only way
OFF the island (other than drowning) is to get into the Wang Car, which
teleports you. Wouldn't make sense to try and do a kill frenzy on the tiny
little island...

I seem to remember someone out there had written a hack to get rid of
the 50,000 cost to save the game. Why Rockstar put it in in the first
place is a mystery to me.

I hope someone writes a similar hack for the new free version, or that
R* took that bit out.
