Hello, I've been having this problem where the shadows and lane markings look jagged at very short distances. No matter what graphics settings I try, the problem still remains and it's driving me up the wall!

Here's a picture of what the shadows look like:

The lane markings look like that aswell, although on this picture they don't look that bad.

I'm running the game at 1920x1080 with an XFX R9 390. Does anybody else experience this or know how to fix this, or is this just how the game looks for everyone?

My game ranges from the high 40's to the 70's but it mostly stays around the 50 fps area.

Try turning on High Resolution Shadows, and set Soft Shadow type to Sharp.

"High Resolution Shadows

The self-explanatory name says it all: High Resolution Shadows increase the detail level of shadows. However, this is typically noticeable only when using 'Sharp' Soft Shadows, instead of NVIDIA PCSS or one of the other soft options."

I had Soft Shadows set to Softer with High Resolution Shadows turned Off. I just ran the in game benchmark with it set to High Res Shadows On and Soft Shadows at Sharp, and the FPS was about the same.

The last scene in the benchmarch also showed light poles, trees, and even the horizontal lamp arms of light poles showing clean, straight shadows. So you give up a little bit in how soft the edges of the shadows are, but the overall shape of the shadows should be better.

I have to say, I like this setting a lot better than the way I had it. I don't like now and then jagged shadows either.
