So my GTX 780 decided to die and now i'm looking to replace it, my only problem is that i'm unemployed rigth now and i cant afford a high end card like this one that i bought back in 2013 so my plan now is to buy something to hang on until i get a job and nvidia releasing a new generation of graphic cards.

So my fallen grafic card is this one: Asus GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5
And the one i'm pretending to buy is this one: Asus GTX 1050 Phoenix 2GB

well thats probably the cheapeast i can afford right now(132€ at my local store), my question is:
my main uses of my computer is to play Final Fantasy XIV and paladins and i want some opinions and if it is a wise choise

This is my current setup:
Ram: Gskill Ripjaws X DDR3-1866MHz 2x4GB
Motherboard: Motherboard Asus Maximus Hero VII
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k
SSD: Crucial MX500 250GB
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB SATA III 64MB
PSU: XFX TS 650W 80Plus Gold

it was all bought between 2013/2014

Well i got used to my gtx 780 and i'm afraid to do a huge downgrade that will impact my gameplay experience (fixed 60fps 😛 ) so i'm looking for opinions :)

Solution
In all honesty, I would first get a steady job before even thinking of buying graphic cards. That's way more important than getting back into gaming. Use the integrated graphics to job search and send resumes out.

The GPU market is just saturated with people buying up cards for mining. I would hold out until the craze is over; the market should go back to normal.

Otherwise, your 1050 that you stated should be fine for now.
You should aim for a 1060 6gb, it should get a bit more performance than your 780 (check comparisons in youtube).

If you really have to choose something within gtx 1050's price, I would go for rx 560 4gb, checking its price first (at least in my country is a lot more cheaper, and is on stock almost everywhere)

You should be fine with the 1050, however if there isnt much of a price difference i'd go with the 1050Ti. My main PC was running a GTX 750 which i upgraded to a 1050Ti and it made a huge difference for me, however i kind of went overboard a few months later and got 2 GTX 980's in SLI which i then upgraded to a GTX 1080, but thats something else.

If the price difference is big enough not to be able to afford it though then yeah get the 1050. A friend of mine replaced his x2 GTX 690's(4 way SLI) with a single 1050 and was happy with how he was running his games.

I've been doing that for two months already and nothing 🙁 been doing some some menial jobs in a construction firm, but its not a secure paycheck. Well anyway thank you all for your feedback
