Graphic card dying?

I'm having problem playing most of my games lately. They crash to an ugly multicolor screen forcing me to restart my computer. Crash happens mostly in the first 30sec of playing. I checked my gpu temp witch were not any higher than usual at 78c in game 50 idle. I updated to the latest driver with no result.

My questions is, does the fact that GtaV witch is a heavy game run smoothly over long period of time prove that there is no problem with the graphic card or is it only luck?

What could cause this problem except the graphic card?

Spec : Windows Xp pro
e6750@ 2.66ghz
3g pc-8500 ddr2 1066mhz
BFG GeForce gtx 280 oc
700w ocz powersupply

Edit: RMA the card and got a new one. Problem is gone. thx for your help

The card was already overclocked from bfg when i bought it. From what i know its a very small oc . How do I underclock to stock speed? I never messed with that before.

Same happens to me ,the only way around is to underclock and pump up the GPU fan speed like 50% ,(don't know about you) and see if it crashes then report back.
