I just bought a evga model of Geforce fx 5900 128mb. Why is the FPS in games so low? I made sure nview is set on standard so my other monitor isnt hogging some speed or w/e, but im only getting 4300 marks on 3dmark '03. I have the newest nvidia drivers too along with dx9b and all that. Help plz?

Are you running 3dmark with AA or Anistropic filtering enabled?

What's your CPU? (Although it isn't a huge factor in 3dmark03, it is still a factor...)

I ran it with the default settings (nothing enabled). I am running a p4 2.66 w/o hyperthreading. 512DDR PC-3200 ram. I just listed the graphics card in ebay, but i still want to know why it was getting low fps, maybe ill get the 256mb version of it or just go ati.

256 megs makes absolutely no difference in performance over a 128 meg card. All it means is that it can hold bigger textures, and there are absolutely no games available desaigned to use 256 megs of textures at once.

Is that such a bad score for a 5900 non-ultra? Sounds about right to me.

I just dont understand how they have high mhz speeds and can suck so much. How do the engineers mess these things up? Do they not test the cards before they make them? lol

I know 256mb makes no difference. I know alot about graphics cards and all that, just wondering why this one is sucking ;)
