A GPU is short for 'Graphics Processing Unit', it is also referred to as a Video Card. These are both the same and have something known as Video Ram aka GDDR5.

It's all the same thing GPU, graphic card, video card, all mean the same thing, you are probably just confusing things you read. The 750Ti is actually not the best buy, it's good for low power systems but if you have a decent powr supply it's a bit pricy.

You may want to back up a bit and ask the correct question which is "what video card should I get for this system" and list your full system specs not just the motherboard, power supply and case included and also your budget.
