I am overclocking my graphic card: nvidia geforce gts 450 1gb ddr5 and when I set core clock to 1020 MHZ I have artifacts.Do I have to increase core voltage and how much to set memory clock???

Solution
Guru3d tested 9 GTS 450's and the highest they were able to go was 968 MHz. All results listed here:

"We recommend an overclock of roughly 900 MHz on the core and 4000 (effective) MHz on the memory as a 100% stable average and safe overclock."

And here is what TechPowerUp got on their Palit GTS 450, which had a very high factory overclocked core speed of 930 MHz (reference is 783 MHz).

The stock core speed of that GPU is 783MHz. You are likely too high on the core clock speed boost. I would not mess with upping voltage on such a low end card. The best memory o/c results I've seen are 1900MHz over the stock 1800MHz.

I would set the core speed to somewhere around 850MHz and then work your way up gradually. The best stability results I've seen were in the 900MHz range. You can try cranking up the voltage in +10Mv stages and see what results you get (artifacts begin to disappear), but I do not have this card and don't know the tolerance ranges of it. I would not recommend messing with voltage much on this card.
