Im looking further to purchase a gtx 1660 ddr6 but my motherboard has ddr3 ram, before purchasing it i thought to post a thread, see what people will actually say about it because my computer mechanic told me that it would work just fine no worries at all. Soo what do you guys think? Is this ddr6 gpu compatible with me ddr3 ram

Solution
It's all mostly good to go, as in compatibility wise, and psu is decent. Make sure it's the grey label not green. Grey better quality.

The 'mostly' part i meant is questioning whether the cpu is capable enough to drive the 1660 to your liking. Depending on games and frame rate, the lack of Hyperthreading, there's a good chance of there being too high cpu usage causing stutters. Can limit frame rate to a comfortable level if need be.
Motherboard ram and ram used on GPUs have no association / compatibility requirement. Your tech guy is correct, you're fine.

What's the rest of your specs though including power supply?
Looking further to upgrade the psu too, i looked over the specification, i got everything under control, i was just worried about the gpu, i thought maybe it wouldnt work because of the ddr type but i think thats not an issue based to what my computer mechanic told me and you either. Here, ill send you the specs check them out and let me know what youre thinking.
The PSU gonna be: Corsair CX550 80 PLUS CERTIFIED
This is my motherboard: Gigabye h81m-s
My cpu: i5-4440 3.10GHz
The graphic that ill buy: GTX 1660 6gb ddr6
Type of ram: ddr3 pc3-12800 1600mhz

-I think that im ready to go, not an issue at all because im just being extra careful, i dont wanna face anyproblem with the build, i did a lot of mistakes earlier in my first years when i didnt know how the pc components works, but know i do actually a little bit because i learned from my mistakes. What do you think sir? Is everything alright?
