Graphic Card Undetected/Faulty ?

I bought a new Gigabyte R9 280X ( Revision 1 ) last Thursday ( 28 Nov ), the card was running fine ( I only got the orange/grey vertical lines error which I've fixed by uninstalling HDMI Audio ) , temperature was 40°C on idle & around 75°C on load ( BF4 MP ) and the only change I made to the card before I encounter the problem is adjusting the fan graph in MSI Afterburner and I got max 69°C on load.

Today, I got a black screen as soon as I join a server in Battlefield 4 Multiplayer ( also occurs in SP ) and my HP monitor would state that " Monitor Going to Sleep " and would just freeze. The only thing I can do is to restart the PC. Now I don't know what is the problem, it's seems that the Graphic Card is undetectable in some way ( Check the screenshot below ). I've checked the wiring everything is fine, fan is spinning no bend pins n stuff . I also notice a slight animation lag when I go to Start ( Running Win 8.1 ) . When I reinstall the driver ( AMD Catalyst 13.11 Beta Version 9.4 ) I got a driver installation error .

Are they any way that I can fix this ? if not I would just return it and hoping I can swap for another Graphic Card rather than having to wait for it to be repaired.

Solution
Those temps are OK if you are doing something not if it just idle then they are on the high side 10-15° over room is what is expected on pure idle.

Sent my PC & the Graphics Card to the Service Center, it turns out to be the driver ( beta ver. ) . Installed the previous ver. and problem solved ( That's what the guy said )

AMD Catalyst 13.10 ( Full Release / Non-Beta )

Here's a picture in GPU-Z : http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/13/12/05/eg4.png

MSI Afterburner recognize it as R9 200 Series too, I assume he downloaded the R9 2XX Series ( Not the HD79XX )

the UEFI thingy ?

That must be a input mistake since to come with a bios update for HD7970 or HD7770 just after release of the new R9 cards does not make sense. Most likely they are meaning the R9 cards and that is an update to fix issues. I would flash it. Just make sure you do not do it in windows rather with USB.

Yeah I think so since R9 280X is a rebrand of 7970 GHz & R9 270X is a rebrand of 7770 . I flashed it and running 13.11 Beta 9.5 seems to be fine ( for now ) .

So my game keep crashing with some coloured screen with vertical lines ( grey, orange etc ) & would just freeze, tried flashing the bios from the past ver. & the updated ver. and so does switching back n forth from 13.10 ⇌ 13.11 Beta 9.5 . Today when it show the screen with vertical lines I quickly CTRL+SHIFT+DEL and check MSI Afterburner and this is what I found : http://gyazo.com/09501dea9ea00b5aa2594cdd430ae81a . I think the crashes might be GPU overheating . Any idea how does it get soo high ?

Today I can't turn on my PC unless I flip the PSU switch ( on -> off -> on ) . I'll be trying to test my PSU with the paperclip method but I can't seem to find a paperclip in this house . I'll let you know the results

Edit : Just realised that I don't have the adapter for the fan. So I can't test but the good news is I can turn on my PC normally

Sent my Graphic Card back to the store, they told me to wait a month :/ . Now I just bought an Arctic Cooling MX-4 and had it reapplied. Idle temps ( Internet browsing and a couple apps running ) is around 48°C -52°C is that like okay ? My room temps are abt 29°C ( Found a crappy thermometer, don't really know if it's accurate ) . I want to run OCCT but I just want to ask you first .
