Graphic Card Upgrade (Need Help!)

Hello all,

I recently sold off my old XFX 4870 HD 1 GB and I am planning to upgrade. Since I am on a budget (Roughly a $120) I need suggestions as to what would be the best option as I am upgrading after more than 2 years since I bought the entire system with the 4870.

The essentials of my rig are:
- Intel Core i3 (550) 3.2 GHz
- Corsair Value Select 8GB (2 X 4 sticks) 1333 BUS DDR 3
- Intel DH55HC MOBO
- Seagate 500GB HDD
- Cooler Master Xtreme 600w PSU

I have been searching on-line and asking around so i've been leaning towards an ATI 7770 HD since its in my price range and also seems to be a good card for my gaming needs (I play at a max res of 1600x900) but any help and new insights into a better card would be much appreciated!

A 7770 or possible a 7790 is the best bet for that price range. So you are spot on.
Try to find an asus or sapphire model.

Ahh and what about HIS & Gigabyte? Also since my MOBO is PCI-E 2.0 x16 and these cards are PCI-E 3.0 will I experience any performance hits?

3.0 will suffer no loss on 2.0, unless its a titan level card for example.
HIS is fairly good. I just hold Asus and Sapphire higher.

No loss of performance with PCIe 2.0 slots. Get a HD 7790.

Alright sounds good. Finally I'd like to know if my CPU will be able to house the card as the 7770 is a double wide card?

As long as at the back of the pc there is an expansion slot open it should work.
