Hey guys,

I currently have a PC that I have had for a couple of years. Recently I have gotten into PC Gaming and have been interested in upgrading my PC. Here is the actually PC specs:

So my biggest question is what graphics card and power supply should I add to the my computer? Currently I have a Radeon HD 5450, which is decent but not powerful enough to play some of the games I want to play like GTA V and Far Cry 4. So what would be a good graphics card to add to the computer without bottlenecking the graphics card? I do gaming on a 1080p moniter and typically like to play on a High Settings. Also what would be a good PSU to get? The only price limitations I have is under $200 for the graphics card and under $50 for the PSU.

Thanks a lot,
Yoshhi

I would only recomend a cx psu for a very basic system not a gaming system as they are not a very high quality psu.

Anything made by seasonic such as xfx or seasonics own would be a good choice. Also any corsair in the rmi series You never want to skimp on the psu as its the heart of your system a bad one can cause tons of headaches or take out your entire system.

I used to have a q6600, it will not be able to play gtav or farcry4 very well regardless of gpu. It doesnt meet the minumum required for farcry 4. And although it meets the minimum for gtav, playing games with the a minimum spec pc is going to result in gameplay that is not enjoyable.

So would you guys recommend simply, saving up money and building a good computer from scratch?

In that case what would be the cheapest build under around $550? Is it possible to get an Intel i5 with that kind of budget?

I am glad you have been having good luck with the cx series alot of people don't. I have replaced a lot of them in systems that have been upgraded from basic to gaming systems. I have been building pcs since the 4.77mhz 8088 so I have a little experience also.

Do you live somewhere where you have reasonable access to a Microcenter? You can save around 60-100$ alone just by buying some of your parts from there. like CPU and MOBO Combo

Thanks to the Black Friday deals, I have finally found a bunch of deals that allow me to get all the parts for a gaming PC I think I could decently game on at around $600. But thank you guys for helping me!
