Hello,
have graphics card adi radeon hd2400 pro in compaq presario tower. Installed card and moved vga cale to socket on graphics card - works ok. Conneted samsung flat screen tv via hdmi. TV appears as screen 1 , monitor screen 2. Get windows wallpaper and icons on monitor but only wallpaper on tv. Have managed to reverse but not sure how! Finally have the same on TV and monitor by disabling the graphics card - this looks like a work agound to me - what is correct solution please?

What are you trying to do here? Clone the displays? If you want both monitors to show the same screen, you need to set them both to the same resolution, and use the clone option in the video settings.

You may not need to set them to the same resolution but it works better that way.

This would not be clones... they would have separate displays.


One is a main application which creates visuals that would then be placed on the 2nd and third displays.

Then you have no issues, the icons would only show up on the main display.

The only time you'd see icons on both screens if you were cloning them. In a streched display you'll see the background on both monitors but the start menu and icons only on the main monitor.
