hello, i have beendoing a lot of research as im looking for a graphics card. Im certainly not an expert on computers so thought i would like a second oppinion about which card would be a good choice.

i have a GA-970A-DS3 motherboard
AMD FX-4100 quad core (3.6 ghz)
700W psu
4GB RAM

Just interested in what my pcu and motherboard can handle really. Im more worried about price as i dont want to stretch myself too much beyond £120. Any ideas would be apriciated thanks.

I have been thinking about a 660gtx or a 7850.

asll, an FX4100 isn't the most powerful CPU in the world, but it'll suffice. the gtx660 and the radeon HD 7850 are both good cards for your price-range. the 660 is a bit more powerful, so if they cost the same where you are, then the 660 would be my pick

thanks for the quick reply. i knew i was limeted by my CPU. I acctualy think it was a GTX560 i was looking at but i now know my limits I would prefer the gtx because of the new geforce expierience open beta i just downloaded. Thanks again.

The 7850 is a better performer than the 560

I would get this 660 if you're fine with the refernece cooler

(in neutral games, the 7850 performs the same as the 660 but Nvidia has more games optimized for it)

if it's between a 7850 and a 560, the AMD card wins hands down. also you have a 750w psu, so overclocking should not be a problem
