Hi Guys,

I have an Asus 128mg MX card. Just got Deues Ex 2 and found that my card does not support pixel shading.

Am looking for a reasably priced card that will give me better performance and the pixel shaders that DE 2 need.

Any help is appreciated :)

how much are you willing to spend?
a brief what you can get that have good shading ability.
ATI:
Radeon9500/9600 (Pro)

nVidia:
GeForceFX5700 (Ultra)

Whether you gain a performance improvement (even though only an MX card is involved) greatly depends upon the other compononents of your PC system. Please inform us what hardware you have, and then we will be able to provide effective counsel on a possible solution to your prob. I have 3 120mg HD's (one replaces one of my CD drives) I work for a games company, lots of testing etc and differnt game builds etc.

The system is a Dell Dimension that has a Dell MB. Internal modem has been removed, use an alcatal ADSL modem.
External zip drive.
TDK DVD and CD rewriter.

The problem with the present card is that it seems it does not support pixel shading, it runs every other game I have fine, even some of the really intensive ones, but have not until DE2 found anything it won't run. The pixel shading is whats the killer.

As I think the likleyhood of these being used more and more is high, I was looking at possibly changing my card, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg 😉

Any advice very welcome, hey and thanks for the replies already guys. I must admit I prefer Nvidia based cards <G>
