Hello guys !

My system specs are :

Intel Core i5 2310 @ 2.9 GHz
8 Gigs of Ram
1 Tb HDD
Intel DH61WW motherboard
Dynamic 550 Watt PSU

I have a generic MIDI tower case

So I was looking for a graphics card for my system and I came across my friends MSI's GTX 650 TI OC Edition

http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N650Ti-1GD5-OC.html

But I have a slight concern that this card will not fit into my case because it is too long. (23 cms). The motherboard is oddly designed and I also think that this card will block the connectors leading upto my optical disk drive. (I really don't know what that cable does but its red in color and is connected to the optical disk drive.)

And one more thing. My PSU doesn't have a 6 pin PCIE connector. It does have 2 molex connectors but one is already being used by my hard drive. The graphics card does come with a molex to 6 pin PCIE converter. But should you connect both molexes into the converter or is is fine with just one??

Please help guys !!! I really want the card !!! My friend is giving me an amaaaaazing deal at only 70 pounds !!!! 😀

HEEEEEELLLLP !!! 🙁

Not sure I would trust the PSU for any GPU, but I'm not familiar with "Dynamic" PSU brand. I would consider getting a quality PSU first before upgrading to a dedicated GPU. Most reputable PSU's at 400-550w have at least 1 PCI-e power connector and since your 550w PSU doesn't even come with one tells me that it is a bit dated or is probably not a true 550w PSU (probably closer to a 300-350w).

Its a generic one , came with the midi case ! I'll keep the upgrading option in my mind ! Thank you !
But in the mean time could you please help me with my question about the molexes ?

You can use 2 x 4 pin Molex connectors to PCI-e power connector if you want, but I'm warning you that you might regret it. It may work fine, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's up to you if you want to chance it, but I just want to make myself clear on what could happen.

Thank you for the advice ! CHEERS !
