Hey guys, I've found my computer idles at an abnormal temperatures (40 Celsius) when it normally idles at like 28 c to 30c. I've dusted all of my fans (including the cpu and gpu fans) and cleaned most of the junk out of my computer. But still no change. Could anyone help? Are my fans not working hard enough? Please help.

note: my computer is located underneath my desk so could there be air flow problems?

Solution

Airflow problems could be the problem. If you're in a very hot region, that could also be it. Are you sure you dusted the entirety of your PC? The heatsink fins of the Cooler are rather hard to dust entirely and those can cause quite the overheat. As a last resort you could also change your fan profile, if you can.

I've determined that it is an airflow problem and will be updating to a better case since my current one is not the best. Thanks for the reply anyway.

Ok, cheers then :).
