Graphics Card and PCI help

I recently have been given possession of a Dell optiplex 745 in desktop mode. I just need to know if the PCI slot stuff have to match up. I read somewhere that memory like DDR3 didnt have to match up and wondered if it was the same for the PCI, so I could know if my card (Sapphire R7 250) would work.

R7-250 is good in that it does not need auxiliary power.
But, if your form factor is the desktop shown, you will need a low profile R7-250.

The type of ram used in the graphics card is irrelevant and has no connection to anything else.

you need to upgrade the bios of your system to get pci-e 2.0 to work
