Let's preface with the following: I am a total n00b.

I just installed my gtx1070 FTW, and my stock HP power supply says it is 650 watts. Cool.

I have a 6 + 2 pin and a 6+ 4 pin connection. So I can fit the 6+2 in the gpu and the 6 pin on the other side but I cannot do the 4 pin because there's only two slots left.

The 4 and 6 pin do not come apart to give me a 2 pin option it seems.

And I don't see any other pins to use.

Do I need a new PSU?

How can I make this work?

Thank you.

post a pick of this 6+4

I have never heard of this, and I am curious

are you sure its not a 4+4? because that goes to the motherboard

Perhaps it was for the motherboard. Maybe mine does not need the connection and it was just chillin' there.

In any case I bought a gold evga 750 watt power supply and decided not to go the adaptor route.
