Question Graphics Card Black Screen

I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB and when I plug it into my motherboard and connect it to my monitor via DVI all it displays is a black screen. Even if I switch to the motherboard graphics it still displays a black screen. The only way for me to use my PC is to not have the graphics card plugged in at all. Cause otherwise no matter which I connect my monitor to it always shows a black screen . The fan spins when it's plugged in and the PC is powered on but I just can't get a display from the card or the motherboard if the graphics card is plugged in. I can only get a display if the card isn't plugged in at all plz help

The 650 Ti usually needs additional power direct from the PSU via 6-pin and/or 8-pin cable. Have you connected this?
