First PC build here, sorry if I miss a term.
When I first got everything set up, I had some issues where my screen would randomly freeze for about a minute and shut down. I reinstalled the OS, Windows 10, and the problems stopped. I installed the drivers and Steam and downloaded Fallout 4. Less than a minute after loading the world, the screen froze and the machine shut down. I performed a clean install of the drivers, checked hardware connections, and tried just about everything I could think of, but nothing worked. I noticed that even under load, the graphics card (GeForce 1060 Windforce) fans weren't switching on. After looking for a solution and triple checking my hardware, I ordered a G1 1070 to replace it, figuring that I had gotten a defective card. I installed the new card, made all the connections, installed the drivers clean and tried Fallout again. After about 5 minutes of perfectly smooth gameplay on High graphics, I had a hard freeze. Alt+tab, Ctrl+alt+del were unresponsive. I waited for a few minutes expecting the machine to shut down, but it didn't. I eventually turned it off with the power button and rebooted. After trying again with Dishonored, same issue. I rebooted again and found that my graphics drivers had disappeared. I've tried checking connections, switching RAM slots, checking standoffs and reinstalling the OS. What am I missing?
