Graphics Card Choices

I'm building a new pc rig and I have a question about the graphics card.
have two options for the graphics card:

a) Buy a GTX 980

b) Buy two GTX 960

I realize that the 980 is better but I don't know if using SLI will make any difference in graphics.

I would be grateful if someone could help me. Thanks.

a) is stronger than b)

If you could shed a bit more and get SLI GTX 970s, that would give you the best performance/price ratio.

Single 980 is the best solution. 256 bit interface 4gb vram 2048cuda core. And all this with avoiding nasty dual gpu issues.
