graphics card compatibility for Asus P8p67Pro motherboard

My HD 6850 card just stopped working. I am in dire need of a graphics card under 250$ can any one please suggest what best option I have for gaming?

Asus P8P67 Pro
Corsair vengence 1600 mhz 8gb
Cooler Master GX 550W
Win 7 64bit

I have seen the post but I am not quite sure my motherboard can support R9 280. In Asus site they said it needed "up to 300Wadditional 6+8 pin PCIe power required"

Also your PSU is in tier 4 of the list which shows its low quality components. If possible change the PSU as well.

Your setup shows to be about 450w with an r9 280 or about 380w with a GTX760. Power-wise your power supply is fine for either. Quality-wise it's up to you as far as power supplies go. The 760 would give you a little more room for error though.

No, they're talking about from the pci-e line from the power supply. The motherboard will supply it's normal 75w like all of them do.

From motherboard's perspective, you are covered, no issue in that context. 6+8 connector has to come from PSU not from mobo. From mobo's perspective you would only need to check the PCIe slot.

Where to get this power consumption info? I am getting 700w with R9 280 in Asus website

Don't go in that gimmick values. try your build at pcpartpicker.com and see what wattage that site shows to you. Buy any good quality PSU having more Watts being shown in the site. If the site says 480W better get 550-600W PSU and so on.
