I have an old Geforce GTX 570 012-P3-1572-AR I am taking from my old gaming computer, I was wondering if it would be compatible with the components of my new HTPC. I am pretty sure but I would like a more expert opinion.

HTPC:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-A75 UD4H
Processor: AMD A4 3400
Power Supply: Seasonic Platinum 400w

Thanks for all of the great answers!

I guess te follow up question is what is the best GPU that IS compatible with the above. I just need to be able to play 1080p 3D movies as it is an HTPC. For example it could not handle 'Gravity' in 3D.

Solution

You could totally run it on a quality 500w psu with at least 38A on the 12V rail

I just wrote what is recommended. In case he chooses a not so good psu.

Airplanegeek,

Thanks for the help! Your electrical IT knowledge is way over my head. Would this power supply be sufficient with the GTX570 and the rest of my hardware? SeaSonic SS-520FL2 520W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Airplanegeek,

I have an additional question. The GTX 570 is coming off a 64 bit system. My HTPC is and can ONLY run a 32 bit system. Is this something I should be concerned with at all? Any compatibility issues there? Thanks again.
