Graphics card compatibility

Is any graphics card compatible with any motherboard and CPU. I am making my first computer and want to add a graphics card. My current build:

-Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1155
-Intel core i3 3.0Ghz LGA1155
-and of course a power supply, a DVD drive and a 1 terra harddrive

If you need compatibility can i get any suggestions?

P.S.: What is the best OS for Gaming and does the power supply matter(i have a 500w one)

Well, pretty much any GPU will work on a modern motherboard. The bigger compatibility question is the wattage and *quality* of your power supply (and it most certainly matters). "500W Power supply" doesn't tell much.

My power supply is an ac 230v.

Brand and model, all computer power supplies would be 230v ones, switchable for various country power grids.

Also need a budget and case brand/model/size.

If you are using an i3 CPU, probably a Radeon 470 or nVidia GTX 1060 3GB would be plenty to game on good settings at 1080 without being held back by the CPU.
