HI All

I'm after some help.

The PC is an Asus Aspire TC-780 desktop. and was manufactured in 2017 i think.

Im looking at upgrading my graphics card to some thing better than the GTX1050 currently fitted and working well.
In preparation for a better card i upgraded the power supply to an RM850 so i can use the 6+2 PCI power connector, and added another 16gb of compatible RAM.
Ive also updated the bios to the latest version i could find.

I purchased a used MSI RX 6600 Graphics card and when installed it the computer wont boot up .... it posts to the Asus screen where it says "Press F12 to enter bios" but hangs and wont go any further. Pressing F12 or Del or F4 does nothing.

I have since purchased a brand new MSI RX 6650 Graphics card but get the same results.

I have also uninstalled all Nvidia driver using DDU and this has made no difference.

Is my desktop/motherboard the issue ?
Whats the ideal GPU for this Board if the Motherboard / Chipset is causing the issues.

CPUID Data is below.

All help greatly appreciated as im running out of hair to pull out,

Kind Regards -------- Paul

these OEM systems are not intended for manual upgrades.
your issues are likely related to this.
added another 16gb of compatible RAM
"compatible" is not applicable in this situation.
RAM kits are not designed to be mix/matched and can always cause issue beyond what you may expect to see with memory failures.

the only way to be absolutely sure RAM modules are compatible is to purchase them in packaged kits.

the only ideal option would be to purchase a retail motherboard and just forget this OEM system as a base platform to upgrade.

Thanks John for your feedback .... i dont think the RAM is an issue as its been in the system for about 3 months with no issues ..... i was wondering if it was the motherboard.
Wasn't really planning a full upgrade but i guess thats what your suggesting.

Did you try turning off secure boot?

@TheRealHaricom

not really a help on your current problem... but I believe you would have been better off upgrading to a GTX 1650. I've seen this gpu being used with that motherboard in another forum. Also, Nvidia to Nvidia would not require the use of DDU. I swap nvidia gpu's between my pc's, no ddu needed - of course, a reinstall of the gpu driver is required when a gpu is slotted into a pc.
