Hello :)
Im not too tech savvy, Ive got a GeForce GT 720 graphics card.
The specs state a maximum digital resolution of 3840x2160, but theres a star next to it and down at the bottom it states that 3840 x 2160 is 30Hz or 4096x2160 at 24hz through HDMI.

Im looking at getting a 27" monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440, using the HDMI connection on the graphics card.

I contacted Nvidia and they told me it did support 2560 x 1440 through HDMI, but didnt confirm if that would be at 60Hz or less, second time they simply replied that "HDMI supports 60Hz", neither answer the question of 2560x 1440 being supported at 60hz with HDMI.

Can anyone here shed some light on things for me?

Solution
That card should be able to handle 1440p. But do remember that the larger the resolution, the smaller the text. If you are running alot, just get the 1440p.
I truly hope this is not for gaming purposes. Why are you getting a 1440p with that card? Do you plan on only playing older games? Also, it will be 60hz. If you are trying to go over that, it will need to be a DisplayPort cable. Again, if this is for gaming, none of that truly matters, because that GT 720 is pretty weak.

Thanks guys :) Yes no interest in gaming at all, just browsing and Netflix :)
I was told text can look a bit fuzzy on 27" at Full HD so thats why I was wanting a higher resoluton :)
