Graphics card crashes while playing games on Chrome

Ok this is a weird one... as I was playing Diep.io, a popular online game on Chrome my graphics card suddenly crashed and the screen went all crazy with hundreds of weird shaped pixels and lines blinking all over the place! I turned off the computer from the power button and when I turned back on everything was fine, I ran a GPU stress test for 20 minutes and it didn't crash. So graphics card is fine but it crashes everytime I run a light .io game on Chrome. How is that possible? What can I do to fix it? This has never happened to me before.

MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-UD3P
CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0GHz
RAM: 2x 4GB Crucial Ballistix sport 1600MHz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R7 370 4GB Nitro Edition

It sounds like a browser issue. Try Firefox and see if it works. If it does, then you know Chrome is messed up, at least on that site. Empty your browser cache and maybe the cookies too.
