Graphics Card Dead?

I was playing cod until my computer froze, some colored artifacts appeared.
Restarted my computer and noticed that windows does not display aero effects any more.
Device manager says : ''Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)''

What happened? Is the graphics card dead?

GPU - 8800 GT

Do you have another gpu to test?
Otherwise it's quite possible your card is dead.

I'd first Google the Error Code. You can check to see if the fan is running on the GPU. Also may want to try re-seating the card and changing the power connection with another.

No, I don't have any other gpu.

The fan is running. Re-seated, changed the power connection, nothing changed.

It could be an overheating...
DId you checked the temps of your card? ANd make sure your card is free from dust.
