I have a radeon hd7850 2gb and it works fine but when i turn on my computer the fan on the card doesnt turn on so i have to open up my case and flick the fan back on.

the fan profile might be set at so low voltage at low temperatures that the fan just doesn't start right away, thou after the kickstart it's still able to maintain the speed... If you leave it be and just idle on the desktop does it eventually start on its own once the temps have risen a little? use GPU-Z to monitor temps and what not..

what kind of temps do you get when you are in a game? Also, I want to circle back to Kari's questions because its a good one when you idle on your desktop or when you start something does your fan start to kick up?

But does it when you turn on a game? I have a feeling your card just stays super cool and there is tech to turn it on but I'll wait and see what you say. My Corsair AX850 power supply fan wont turn on until my power supply reaches a certain power usage.

Oh okay so its not doing something like my power supply does. I would get in contact with HIS and see what they would recommend you doing. Sure you could go out and purchase a new fan for your graphic card which would require you to disassemble your unit. However that may void the warranty of the card.
